Jewelers don’t have it easy. Time and time again they are the target of burglars – including the Schützlhoffer jewelery store in Villach. A perpetrator had tried to smash the shop window with a stone on Tuesday evening.
A mess – It is now the 13th time (!) that Gerald Schützlhoffer’s jewelry store has been targeted by thieves. “The perpetrator was after the Swiss watch brand Longines, which was in the shop window,” says Gerald Schützelhoffer of the “Krone”. As can be seen in the video material, the stranger tried to smash the armored window with a stone – without success!
The fact that the security system immediately raised the alarm may have caused the perpetrator to flee: “Half of Villach was awake again!”, but so far negative.
Empty displays for the next few weeks
“It’s really annoying – the damage caused by the broken window alone is about 15,000 euros,” says Schützelhoffer. What’s even more annoying, the waiting time for a new special disc is six weeks. Until then, the displays should now remain blank. Traces were secured, now the video material from the security cameras is being evaluated.
By the way: Paul Schützlhoffer has taken over the company in the fourth generation and has made a name for himself with the production of exclusive one-of-a-kind jewelery for German rappers. For example, the successful rapper Capital Bra is one of the customers of the jewelry store.
