On the A1 – Eight injured and 200 meters of debris

It almost looked like a battlefield: debris, luggage and even a washing machine were scattered 200 meters on the road: eight people were injured in a serious traffic accident between a minibus and a van on the A1 near Eggendorf in the Traunkreis Sunday at 4 am

The accident happened on the A1 towards Vienna between the Sattledt exit and the Allhaming exit, in the municipality of Eggendorf in the Traunkreis district. A van and a pickup truck were involved. Both vehicles rolled over and landed on their sides upon impact. The seven occupants of the Romanian minibus were all able to free themselves from the vehicle.

The steering wheel of the transporter was jammed
The driver of the van, on the other hand, was seriously injured and was trapped in the vehicle. He had to be freed from the badly damaged wreckage by the fire service.

Two seriously injured
Eight people were injured in the accident, two of them seriously. The rescue service was on the scene with a larger number of troops and two emergency medical teams. The fire brigade and the armed forces of ASFINAG Traffic
After the accident was registered, managers cleared the road and supported the towing company in recovering the accident vehicles.

Closed for an hour and a half
The A1 Westautobahn was closed for about an hour and a half in the vicinity of the accident. A diversion has been set up via the A8 Innkreis and the A25 Welser Autobahn. An impoundment of approximately one kilometer formed in front of the accident site.
