After seventeen days, the state criminal investigation department was able to solve the mystery of a woman’s corpse in a forest near Plesching (municipality of Steyregg): the son of the 56-year-old woman from Linz reported over the weekend that he could not reach his mother. The woman has since been identified.
At around 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, a man reported to a police inspection in Linz that he could not reach his mother. A check of the apartment was negative. Due to the suspected connection to the female body found on August 4, 2023, the crime scene team of the National Criminal Investigation Department was called in to secure evidence.
The woman could be clearly identified thanks to the fingerprints stored in the biometric passport. She would have suffered from a mental illness.
