A woman had to watch in Vienna-Donaustadt on Sunday evening when her own husband was stabbed with a knife in front of her by a 41-year-old man. The victim suffered a stab wound to the leg. According to the police, the suspect was arrested without resistance.
It was around 7:40 p.m. when the police arrived. The victim, his wife and the suspect were subsequently found in the courtyard of a residential complex in Donaustadt. Since the 41-year-old was also accused by the partner of the assaulted man, he was immediately arrested.
Murder weapon not yet found
The man sustained a stab wound to his leg and had to be taken to hospital. “The murder weapon could not be found,” the emergency services lamented in a broadcast on Monday.
Further investigations are underway
An entry and approach ban and a provisional ban on weapons have been issued against the arrested suspect. The 41-year-old was on trial on suspicion of deliberately causing serious bodily harm. Further investigation into the crime is ongoing.
