About two months after the failed uprising against the Russian military leadership, it was initially quiet around Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin. A new video of the mercenary boss has now surfaced on the internet (see above). It is said that he is in Africa.
In the approximately 40-second clip, Prigozhin can be seen in camouflage clothing and with a gun in his hand, with gunmen and a pick-up truck in the background.
The video was shot in an African country, the Gray Zone telegram channel, which is close to the Wagner mercenary group, said Monday night. More detailed information was not given.

The location of the recording could not be independently verified. “We are working. The temperature is over 50 degrees,” says Prigozhin in the video. He then explains that his Wagner company is doing reconnaissance work – adding, “It makes Russia even bigger on all continents. And Africa even freer .”
Notorious for their brutality, Russian fighters are active in several African countries.
After the march on Moscow, Prigozhin left for Belarus
For months, Prigozhin’s mercenaries had been fighting alongside the regular Russian army in the war of aggression against Ukraine that had been going on since February 2022. Frustrated with the ineffective Russian military leadership, Prigozhin mobilized his men in late June for a march on Moscow, which he halted after negotiations a few hours later. The Kremlin promised Prigozhin impunity on the condition that he emigrate to neighboring Belarus.
Moments later, however, the 62-year-old reappeared in Russia – on the sidelines of the Africa Summit in St Petersburg at the end of July. There he showed himself with a representative of the Central African Republic. Recently, there has also been concern that West African Niger could move closer to Russia following the recent military coup. Prigozhin had welcomed the overthrow in Niger.
