undeclared work? – After the frequency raid: Companies are at risk of being robbed of their activities

Date:

After a police financial check last Saturday at the Frequency Festival in St. Pölten, several security companies are threatened with the revocation of their business license. There is illegal employment of dozens of employees in the room.

The focus of the investigation is on the company CCS – Crowd Control Security GmbH. One of the shareholders is Barracuda Holding, in which organizer Harald Jenner also has an interest.

The financial police monitor labor relations
CCS would have commissioned thirteen sub-security companies, which would have given the orders to five other subcontractors. The financial police are currently investigating the labor relations.

The presumption is also being investigated that the legal relationship between CCS and the subcontractors was not an employment contract, but a temporary worker – CCS would then be liable for possible violations by the subcontractors, according to the report. It is also checked whether security staff have undergone a security check before they take up employment.

“We will apply to the district administrations for those security companies whose personnel have not undergone systematic security checks, so that the trading licenses of these companies will be revoked,” said Wilfried Lehner, chief of the financial police, in the “Kurier”.

After the security and delivery staff checked the festival site last Saturday, 66 declarations were made under the Social Security Act. It mainly concerns suspicions of undeclared work. Two companies accounted for 48 of those affected. In addition, employees would have fled the control.

Jenner declined to comment on the cause for now. He referred to a conversation with Lehner in mid-September.
