More and more parents decide to take care of their children at a young age. As a result of this development, the care quota in day care centers is steadily increasing from year to year. Company kindergartens are experiencing a rising trend as a result. However, the offer is still too small.
More and more companies decide to set up their own kindergartens. This can be done for operational reasons as well as as part of an effort to meet employee needs. Austria currently has a total of 47 company kindergartens. These are administered by non-profit organizations. In Vienna alone, the organization “Children in Vienna”, also known as KIWI, takes care of 22 company kindergartens. In an interview with krone.tv, Gudrun Kern, general manager of KIWI, explains exactly how these facilities are managed and what conditions companies must meet in order to run a corporate kindergarten.
