In the final of the summer, this year’s very long autumn holiday is already within reach. It is not yet clear at all schools that these eleven days will last this year, because the individual locations must vote on one day. But the holiday providers are counting on it and have turned the price screw around. And to put it polemically: there is rarely school all at once until Easter.
The tour operators have already exaggerated it: the autumn holidays are very long this year in the vast majority of schools in Upper Austria – eleven days – when the Friday after All Souls’ Day is independently released for schools. There is no advice from the Directorate of Education, but the minimum three freely available school autonomous days are sufficient. Because the Department of Education advises schools to set aside two days after Ascension Day (May 10, 2024) and after Corpus Christi (May 31) for the Friday Cross Days. Then one remains. And this is where November 3, 2023 comes in handy.
