Ten calves were rescued early Sunday morning in a major fire in Neuhofen an der Ybbs (Amstetten district in Lower Austria). Nine fire brigades with more than 100 members were involved in the extinguishing work.
Passers-by noticed the fire in Kornberg-Schlickenreith, a borough of Neuhofen an der Ybbs, and informed the fire brigade around 4.30 am. The highest warning level “B4” is activated.
An aerial platform was also used by the emergency services. This prevented the flames from spreading from the farm to the residential building and the machine hall, according to the district fire command. The farm was partially destroyed.
