Stabbed multiple times – bloody act in inn: ex-husband (41) confessed

Date:

The 41-year-old ex-husband of the stabbed 30-year-old from Piesendorf in Salzburg confessed to the bloody act on Sunday morning. Police had previously identified him as an urgent suspect. The suspect had told his lawyer that he had acted “in a generally understandable violent emotional state”. His ex-partner blackmailed and humiliated him.

The body of a woman was found on Friday in the Pinzgau municipality. Piesendorfer, who had fled earlier, turned himself in to the police on Saturday morning and the detectives of the National Criminal Investigation Department started the interrogation in the afternoon. An “interrogation of several hours,” as attorney Franz Essl pointed out to the APA. When asked, Essl stated that his client deeply regretted the act and that it was not a planned murder. He still loved his partner, but saw no other way out.

Divorce dispute as a trigger?
Essl spoke of a “hopeless situation” in which the alleged perpetrator was found. For several weeks there have been recurring quarrels because of the impending divorce. A heated discussion over the divorce modalities eventually escalated on Friday.

Lawyer localizes action in affect
According to the lawyer, the mother of two children has announced that she wants to take over the joint ventures before the crime. This had consequences for the joint leases of two restaurants and a pool buffet, among other things. The act arose from this exceptional emotional situation, which is why the lawyer pleads for manslaughter in the affect.

During the autopsy, multiple stab wounds and strangulation marks were found on the victim’s body. Police were unable to provide official information at the request of APA on Sunday afternoon.
