The 26-year-old driver had no chance of survival: in heavy rain, the BMW ended up against the trailer of a semi-trailer in a rear-end collision on the Innkreisautobahn (Upper Austria). This ruptured the car and drilled into the passenger compartment. The emergency services did what was humanly possible, but to no avail.
An accident occurred shortly after noon: the BMW driver (26) from Röthis in Vorarlberg (Feldbach district) had overlooked that the lorry with a trailer of a Belarusian (42) apparently slowed down for him in heavy rain was driving. His car hit the trailer on the right side, the speed was so high that the front of the car hit the trailer tire. And the passenger compartment was destroyed.

The fire service carried out a rescue operation on the spot and started CPR. But even at the scene of the accident, the emergency services had to give up. The driver was dead.
The Innkreisautobahn was closed for about an hour towards Voralpenkreuz and there was a backlog of about five kilometers.
