Didn’t pay her 50 euro sushi bill in Linz, drove up to the landlady, then fled in her mother’s car to Croatia, where she was apprehended – and now soon on her way back to Austria. The “journey” of a young couple from Styria ends in the prison of Graz-Jakomini.
“Extradition and passage have been approved. There is already a date for the transfer,” says Hansjörg Bacher, spokesman for the Graz public prosecutor. In the coming days, the Zechpreller – she is 16 years old, he is only 17 – will be transferred to Austria .
Judge decides on arrest
As reported, the young duo was apprehended at a gas station in Croatia after their flight and has been held there ever since. Upon extradition, suspects are taken to the nearest prison after the border, in this case Graz. “Then the responsible Austrian judge must decide within 48 hours whether the detention will be extended,” Bacher explains.
The Public Prosecution Service in Graz is investigating the two known teenagers for attempted murder. Bacher: “We have asked the Croatian authorities for a hearing on the legal aid process.”
The victim is still in hospital
Meanwhile, the sushi landlady is still staying at Kepler University Hospital. “The patient is doing well under the circumstances,” it says on request.
