Fatal accident at work this morning in Heizendorf (Styria): A farmer fell after taking hay from the attic with a ladder and died at the scene of the accident.
A 40-year-old from the Graz-Environment district came to the farm of the 63-year-old from the Graz-Environment district on Thursday morning and found him lifeless on a ladder. The man immediately set the rescue chain in motion.
Ladder slipped
The 63-year-old is said to have fetched hay and set up a ladder to get into the attic. When leaving the attic, he must have stepped on the ladder, which slipped with the 63-year-old and fell about five feet. Despite an initiated resuscitation by the Red Cross and an emergency doctor, only the death of the man could be determined.
