Wild scenes played out in Vienna-Leopoldstadt on Thursday evening. A 30-year-old stabbed his fellow builder (46) in a hostel with a kitchen knife after a dispute between the two escalated.
Around 10 p.m., alert neighbors called the police after the stabbing between the two men broke out. The 30-year-old suddenly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the 46-year-old housemate in the leg. Soon after, he fled, leaving the wounded man behind.
Search has failed so far
When the police arrived, there was no sign of the suspect. Officers immediately launched a manhunt for the man. This has not been successful so far. The victim was taken to hospital after the attack.
The suspect is not registered in Austria. The officers confiscated the kitchen knife. Police say the cause of the stabbing is still unclear.
