The RedBull Dolomitenmann is considered the toughest team competition in the world and for many is even the unofficial world championship of extreme sports. Four seniors, all former top athletes, want to do it all over again and will compete against the best mountain runners, paragliders, mountain bikers and kayakers in the world on September 9 in Lienz. The “Bergkrone” met the four pensioners during training in Lienz and tried to keep up.
“We are no longer the toughest under the sun, but we are still in good shape and we want to show that you can still achieve top sports performance at an older age,” says Otti “Oldfox” Altmann from Villach, who won the first Dolomitenmann- team over 60 “the wild sixties/Skinfit International-Bäckerei Joast”. His comrades-in-arms are all former top athletes, who together are exactly 250 years old today.
