After the death of a man in police custody in the Mödling branch of the State Criminal Investigation Department of Lower Austria last Tuesday, the result of the autopsy is available. The 32-year-old died of natural causes.
For almost a week it was unclear how the man died in police custody. It was assumed that the 32-year-old died during the so-called identification service treatment. Now the autopsy results brought clarity.
Erich Habitzl, spokesman for the public prosecutor’s office in Wiener Neustadt, said on Monday that there was no evidence of third-party negligence and that the proceedings had been stopped.
The 32-year-old was initially arrested on suspicion of fraud and forgery.
