Supermarket chain Lidl has launched a recall in Great Britain. The reason is spicy: a product link on the packaging of a children’s snack leads to a Chinese porn site.
These are different types of cookies from the cartoon series “Paw Patrol”, which is also very popular in Germany. But parents who followed the link on the package didn’t end up on an ingredients and nutrition page – they ended up on a porn site!
UK Consumer Protection warned parents about “sensitive content” that could be accessed via the likely manipulated link.
A recall has been initiated. Customers can return purchased products in stores. “We apologize for the inconvenience caused,” Lidl told Bild after the incident.
