Three injured – 80 firefighters extinguish fire in an apartment

Flames on the top floor of an apartment building: On Monday evening, a fire broke out in an apartment in Vorderweißenbach in Upper Austria. Seven fire brigades with 80 men advanced. The rescue took three people with smoke inhalation to surrounding hospitals.

The Floriani were warned around 02:30: an apartment in Vorderweißenbach was on fire. 80 firefighters were on hand to install fire lines and bring the flames under control – which was also possible thanks to the rapid intervention.

Water from outdoor pool
The fire brigade took the water for the extinguishing work from the outdoor swimming pool next to the residential building and from streams in the area. Around five o’clock in the morning the Floriani could “shoot out”.

Cause of fire unclear
According to information from the Red Cross, three people with smoke poisoning had to be taken to Rohrbach and Freistadt hospitals. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
