The angry protests leading up to the trial resulted in a more lenient sentence in the Teichtmeister case. Lawyer Manfred Arbacher-Stöger is now filing a complaint against the protesters for hate speech. “There is no place in Austria for a lynching!” says Arbacher-Stöger.
In the run-up to the protest, various groups had created a mood against the judiciary and politics. During demonstrations, one participant even took a gallows with him. It was precisely these that gave Florian Teichtmeister a reason to soften. And some of them should have an ad in their house right now…
“Right and Just Judgment”
Because Manfred Arbacher-Stöger, himself a well-known criminal lawyer, has no understanding of “popular jurisdiction”. “Only the judge has to judge criminally relevant facts”. The verdict against Teichtmeister was “correct and fair”, mainly because the judge was not influenced by the mob on the street.
Gallows and bloodied penis
He has filed a complaint against some of the protesters today, which is available on Krone.tv. The accusation: sedition! After all, one of the demonstrators brought a gallows with the words “Hello. 9/5/2023” would be engraved, which could be interpreted as “Hang him”. In addition, “other symbols glorifying violence” such as a blood-stained penis were circulated…

So the demos should not only have been an extenuating circumstance for Florian Teichtmeister, but should also have had a police aftermath…
