According to the police, a 22-year-old wanted to charge a battery in his father’s workshop on Monday evening. He placed a replica battery in the original quick charger that was on a workbench. Probably due to overcharging, the battery has overheated and has lit up along with the charging station.
A motorist who happened to drive by saw smoke coming from the building around 7:30 p.m. and alerted the fire brigade. Troops from the volunteer fire brigades Hieflau and Eisenerz extinguished the fire, luckily no one was injured.
