Just nine minutes after a robbery, police officers were able to arrest a 26-year-old at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, who allegedly threatened a 21-year-old with a knife and robbed him in Waldeggstrasse in Linz. A trio on e-scooters had previously attacked a man.
The police were alerted around 2:06 a.m. on Wednesday by a 21-year-old from Linz. This had been attacked in Waldeggstraße. The perpetrator was on a bicycle, talked to the victim and robbed him. After a short search by the police, the 26-year-old perpetrator from Afghanistan was found on a construction site and arrested.
Stanley knife as a murder weapon
The arrest took place at 2:15 a.m. and the murder weapon, a Stanley knife, was secured. The suspect was transferred to the police detention center (PAZ) in Linz. Further investigations are being carried out by the police command of the city of Linz and are still ongoing.
Robbers on e-scooters
Half an hour later, at 1:29 a.m., a robbery took place on Vogelfangerweg in the Neue Heimat district of Linz, involving three young perpetrators. According to the 59-year-old victim from Linz, the perpetrators were traveling with three e-scooters. One of the perpetrators brought the man to the ground with a kick to the knee.
Punched in the face with a fist
The perpetrators then allegedly kicked the victim and punched him in the face. The unknown perpetrators then stole the shoulder bag and its contents and fled in the direction of Haiderstraße. A police investigation has so far turned up negative. The victim suffered minor injuries as a result. Further investigations are being carried out by the criminal division of the police command of the city of Linz.
