A brothel in Graz is causing a stir with posters that read: “We are recruiting!!! Girl tester” is the controversial slogan. Now a few days have passed and the first advertisement has already arrived – the conclusion so far: the advertisement still adorns the billboard and the operator can be fined a hefty fine.
The shocking poster advertisement still causes great shock in Graz, not least because the advertisement is still hanging. Mayor Elke Kahr quickly spoke: “Fortunately, we have a law in Styria that prohibits advertising for brothels.”
Mayor’s first announcement
The illegal brothel advertising is therefore by no means acceptable to the mayor. Therefore, the first ad was greeted on Monday. Kahr now hopes that “action will be taken quickly and effectively”.
‘Advertising is misogynistic’
Women’s Minister Susanne Raab (ÖVP) has already responded to the tasteless advertisement: “When I read that, my stomach turns. This ad is incredibly disgusting, misogynistic and inhumane.” Raab has therefore asked her ministry to investigate legal action against the operator together with the Styrian police.
The brothel owner himself justifies the controversial advertisement: “This call is about finding people who can mentally prepare our applicants for this difficult – probably the toughest job in the world.”
This fine may threaten the operator
According to information from the “Steirekrone”, the detectives came to the conclusion that the case contained nothing criminally relevant. Nevertheless, it is a violation of the Prostitution Act. A punishment has not yet been determined, but it will certainly come.
the worst case the action could cost the brothel operator involved up to 7,267 euros.
