Caught in the act and arrested: 27-year-old arrested at the Korneuburg regional court for attempted serious fraud – the verdict is final!
A desperate cry. Then a voice sounded, “Your daughter has caused a fatal accident. There must be penance for that.” For hours, an 87-year-old was pressured by suspected police officers. In the end, the fraudsters in Baden stole jewellery, gold coins and cash – a total of 100,000 euros. The loot has since disappeared without a trace.
The suspect acted as a pick-up service
In mid-May, the same perpetrators tried to bring the valuables of a 73-year-old from the Weinviertel to presumed safety. “You will be attacked tonight. Your name is on a list of burglars,’ the voice on the phone explained. Scared but quick-witted, the woman alerted the police. And played the decoy. For example, a 27-year-old who wanted to get hold of the loot could be arrested red-handed as a false prosecutor. The heads of the gang of drug addicts had promised about 400 euros to pick them up. Now the American with Czech roots was on trial in Korneuburg.
After her involvement in the April act could not be proven beyond reasonable doubt (the witness could not clearly identify her), the previous convict was sentenced to 32 months unconditional prison for attempted commercial fraud – legally binding.
