The corruption scandal involving Siemens and numerous Vorarlberg companies is spreading. Employees of the Feldkirch company “Protec” are said to have acted as “intermediaries” and distributed gifts for Siemens.
According to reports in the “UN” and “Neue Vorarlberger Tageszeitung”, the company “Protec”, which specializes in control and process technology, has submitted a statement of fact to the Feldkirch prosecutor’s office. “Protec” was and is closely associated with Siemens in business and may have been involved in many an unfair deal. “We are affected, but we are also involved in this confusion around Siemens,” director Fritz Amann, who once sat in the state parliament for the FPÖ and was vice president of the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce, told the “UN”. .
Due to the close contact with Siemens, internal investigations were carried out after the outbreak of the scandal and some errors were found when searching old invoices. “We support all responsible committees with the necessary clarification and assume all operational responsibility for the actions, even if we ourselves are misled,” emphasized Amann.
“Protec” employees as “Sinterklazen”
Spicy: Based on everything known about the case so far, Siemens employees have likely cultivated their own version of the give-and-take duality, and various business relationships would have been regularly oiled with generous gifts.
The description of the facts shows that former employees of “Protec” acted as a kind of intermediary and brought the presents to the people like Santa Claus. One of the recipients is known by name: the former Bregenz SPÖ politician and Alpenländische director Wilhelm Muzyczyn received a beautiful iPhone from Siemens – the Vice President of the Bregenz Festival admitted this publicly, but at the same time rejected all accusations of corruption. Important: Muzyczyn is still not listed as a suspect.
