A ten-year-old boy was electrocuted in a hotel in the English coastal town of Blackpool and died as a result. Lancashire Police said the injuries indicated he had received a high electrical voltage.
The child was found unconscious on Sunday in Tiffany’s Hotel on the boulevard, the PA news agency reported on Friday. The boy was taken to hospital and died on Thursday.
According to police, the family was at his bedside. “Our thoughts are with the relatives during this difficult time,” said a police officer.
Hotel closes voluntarily during investigation
Tiffany’s Hotel said in a statement that it will close voluntarily during the police investigation and its own inspections. “We are heartbroken by the news we received today and our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time,” the hotel said. “The safety and comfort of our guests are our top priority. Our phone lines remain open.”
