An enterprising couple was not a blank slate for finance or justice – both already have criminal records. Yet they were able to get back to work as director of a luxury lease car company. And ended up in court again as incorrigible tax evaders. This time it was enough for a judge at the regional court in Klagenfurt: the man must be in custody!
Whether Bentley or Mercedes – a luxury car leasing specialist had a wide range. However, the company will probably have to rest for a while. Because the entrepreneur and his wife were eventually convicted on the basis of the Financial Criminal Law at the regional court in Klagenfurt. Again! Which raises the question of how the two tax evaders can still be used as directors. This time it was about tax evasion. Sales tax and NOVA were not paid and a total of approximately 1.7 million euros in damage would have been incurred.
Eight months behind bars
“Due to the criminal record, an unconditional prison sentence has been imposed on the suspect this time,” confirms spokesman Christian Liebhuser-Karl. The two race professionals together have to pay a fine of 1,340,000 euros and he also ends up behind bars for eight months. Liebhauser explains how the fine is measured: “The value that determines the fine is doubled and a fine amount is then calculated from this amount.” Unconditional prison sentences are rare – but black tax damages should be a cause for concern.
