There is disbelief after the serious motorcycle accident that took place on Friday evening in the south of Burgenland. A 21-year-old man was killed. The public’s sympathy is great.
The 21-year-old motorcyclist probably collided with a tractor near the outdoor swimming pool in Großpetersdorf (Oberwart district). The exact circumstances of the accident are still being investigated by the police. Although emergency services quickly arrived on the scene and the emergency helicopter was immediately alerted, all help for the young man came too late.
Since then there has been great sadness, not only among the surviving relatives. Numerous candles were placed at the scene of the accident. There are always people who come and stop there for a while – from friends to former school colleagues. No one can understand the accident that so suddenly took the life of a young person.
The 21-year-old was also active as a footballer for SC Schachendorf. The club colleagues are still shocked. Next to the candles at the scene of the accident is his football uniform, as a reminder of the matches we played together.
