Frightened passersby alerted police on Monday morning that an elderly man was standing in the center of Hochburg-Ach (Upper Austria) with a gun at the ready and doing target practice.
The 68-year-old from Ostermiething was not far from the NMS Hochburg-Ach with his partner. The terrifying events were observed. His partner photographed the man in different shooting positions. When the witnesses talked to the two about it, they walked away, but behaved very aggressively.
Sports pistol
Alarmed police officers were able to arrest the duo shortly afterwards. However, the 68-year-old was completely unreasonable and explained to the officers that it was a sports laser pistol that did not fire projectiles. For this reason, he couldn’t understand the excitement about this at all.
