On Monday evening, a serious traffic accident took place on the Alpine route in the city of Salzburg between a 15-year-old moped driver and a 37-year-old car driver.
The car drove behind the moped, reducing its speed so that a trolleybus coming from the right could exit. The driver of the car had overlooked this for reasons that are still unclear and drove into the back of the moped.
As a result, the 15-year-old was thrown from his moped and slid more than 50 meters along the Alpenweg.
Alcohol test positive
An alcohol test showed that the driver had a blood alcohol level of 1.64. The moped rider was sober. There was significant damage to both vehicles. A report has been drawn up and the driver’s license of the car has been confiscated.
