A tragic accident occurred in Ischgl in Tyrol on Tuesday. A man (62) was driving a self-propelled work machine into the valley when, for reasons that are still unclear, he got the machine into a gully along the road. There the machine overturned and buried the 62-year-old.
The local population suffered a fatal accident on Tuesday around 12.48 pm 500 meters below the mountain restaurant “Paznauner Taja”. The man drove the self-propelled work machine down the valley on the single-lane mountain road towards Ischgl. Suddenly, for some unknown reason, he went over the right side of the road into the gutter that ran right next to the road. The aircraft then fell over on its left side. The 62-year-old was trapped under the driver’s cab of the work machine, police said.
Hikers discovered the accident
Random walkers eventually came across the fallen machine and the trapped handlebars, but all help came too late for him. They immediately set the rescue chain in motion, but the emergency doctor who was alerted could only determine that the driver was dead.
