A 49-year-old was seriously injured with twenty stab wounds by a young Chechen in the Mödling district (Lower Austria). The perpetrator (28) was caught on the run during a large-scale manhunt and confessed. The victim is currently stable after emergency surgery.
A taxi driver in Breitenfurt fought a battle to the death: After an unknown man drove from the Mödling train station to the city in the Vienna Forest on Monday morning around 4:30 a.m., the man suddenly pulled out a knife and brutally stabbed him. 49 year old. The taxi driver initially managed to escape from the car. Fearing for his life, he braced himself against the rear door of the vehicle to prevent the attacker, who was apparently suffering from bloodlust, from getting out – unfortunately in vain. The perpetrator mercilessly stabbed his injured victim through the open window.
He then stormed out of the other side of the car and continued to attack the man who was already on the ground with numerous stabs. Still, the 49-year-old managed to take the knife from the stranger. He accepted that he would have to grab the knife several times in the brutal fight for survival. The taxi driver had the presence of mind to jump back into the vehicle and escape. But it did not help. The criminal gave chase unhindered, pulled out a second knife and continued stabbing the man.
The robber fled with a backpack
Miraculously, the 49-year-old managed to escape in the car despite life-threatening injuries. But weakened by the attack, he lost control of the car. The perpetrator was immediately back, continued stabbing and eventually fled with a backpack full of drinks and food.
As part of a large-scale manhunt, the Chechen man on the run was arrested. The 28-year-old confessed to the attempted robbery-murder.
