Hate speech on Instagram – young people wanted to disrupt the police station

Date:

Two boys had taken action on Instagram against officers from the Feldkirch police in Vorarlberg. This had legal consequences.

One suspect is 16 years old and the other is 17 years old. What they have done is not the stupid behavior of young people. According to the Public Prosecution Service, this is a request to commit a criminal offense.

Posted photos of real firearm
In concrete terms, it is about creating an atmosphere against officers at the Feldkirch police station. The defendants had publicly called on their Instagram accounts to come to Feldkirch and attack police officers on duty. This call was supported with a photo of a real firearm and a photo with fireworks and the message that there would be shots at the police station today.

When judge Dietmar Nußbaumer asked the two defendants what their intentions were, they replied that it was a joke.

Bad excuses were heard
When Mr. Rat asks again if they have ever seen a cabaret program on television where someone said that police officers “need to be fed…”, it is only when the boys realize the seriousness of the situation. The delinquents’ excuses are quite creative and vary from ‘I was completely drunk at the time’, via ‘I don’t remember exactly’ to ‘I was completely stoned’.

A meager responsibility that ultimately earned the two agitators a guilty verdict as charged and one a prison sentence of four months, the other a probation period of six months and a fine of 240 euros.
