Indian police used a roller to destroy thousands of bottles of seized illegal liquor. The alcohol, worth almost €200,000, was seized by police, mainly in the past two years of the pandemic in the city of Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat, where alcohol is banned.
A police representative told India Today newspaper that several people had been arrested in connection with the seizures. Nearly 200 police officers attended the vandalism and efforts were made to keep the public away from the scene, the newspaper reported. Then the shards were buried.
