Next year, a new vignette category for cars will be introduced: the one-day vignette for 8.60 euros. The cabinet decided this in the Council of Ministers on Wednesday. The price of the annual vignette for 2024 remains unchanged (96.40 euros).
The 10-day vignette, which is mainly used by holidaymakers, will be increased from 9.90 to 11.50 euros. The price of the two-month vignette drops from 29 to 28.90 euros. The vignette prices for truck tolls will also not be adjusted to inflation next year. However, the costs of CO2 emissions from trucks are included in the toll. A toll increase of approximately 7.4 percent is planned for 2024.
Price differentiation is coming
From 2025, the toll for trucks will be adjusted again to inflation. On Wednesday, the government approved an amendment to the Federal Road Toll Act (BStMautG), an amendment to the EU infrastructure costs directive. The price of tolls is differentiated, among other things: the two-month vignette costs 30 percent of the price of an annual vignette, the ten-day vignette twelve percent and the day vignette nine percent.
The price of the annual vignette for single-track motor vehicles will be set at 38.50 euros next year, which is 40 percent of the price for an annual vignette for cars.
