Preschool teachers in particular are desperately needed at the moment. Despite benefits such as ‘safe and varied work’, the sector has faced major challenges in recruiting young people, especially since the pandemic. For Claudia Toth, herself a former kindergarten teacher, an image change is urgently needed: “The image of the teacher has changed. The younger generation relies on different values,” says the mother of three.
