An Austrian-born man committed more than 200 crimes before his 14th birthday, but because of his age he always got away scot-free. Two days after his birthday party, he is actually behind bars with an accomplice (19) and a female accomplice (20).
This man is a tough nut to crack and his social workers have clearly sunk their teeth into him so far. Because despite all the warnings, requests and appeals in the run-up to his birthday last Sunday – also the date of his criminal liability – he simply could not let it go. Together with two older acquaintances, he immediately went down the wrong path again and was promptly arrested.
Held on the Internet
This time, for the first time, it had serious consequences for the teenager. Because on Saturday the trio – including himself – was placed in pre-trial detention. The 14-year-old now faces a prison sentence of up to 7.5 years. But the ‘problem boy’ is celebrated as a hero by his friends on social networks. “Free E. We miss you,” they look forward to the moment when the teenager is released again and can then probably commit even more crimes.
Victim seriously injured
The latest incident that has now landed him behind bars for at least two weeks was the armed robbery of a 31-year-old at his apartment in Linz. The victim was reportedly seriously injured by the 14-year-old and his 19-year-old accomplice. A 20-year-old woman from Linz is considered a contributor. The three have now been remanded in custody due to the risk of committing a crime. The detention will initially run until October 9 and will then be reviewed.
