After the violent death of a six-year-old boy in Pragsdorf near Neubrandenburg in Germany, police have arrested a 14-year-old. He was the last person to see the victim alive on September 14 and also became embroiled in contradictions during the interrogation.
He was arrested in Pragsdorf on Tuesday morning and will now be brought to court on urgent suspicion, a police spokeswoman said. An arrest warrant was issued at the court in Neubrandenburg early in the morning on suspicion of manslaughter.
DNA on crime knife
Furthermore, examination of the knife found near the crime scene revealed that it was the instrument of the crime. According to the police, blood and traces of fibers from the victim as well as DNA traces were found on the blade and handle, which “can be attributed with a very high degree of probability to the 14-year-old.” The motive is still unclear.
Found seriously injured in the hedge
The six-year-old did not come home from playing at the agreed time on September 14. His parents reported him missing. In the evening, the boy was found with serious stab wounds in the hedge near the football field. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.
The suspect was spotted by the police shortly after the violent crime. However, a search of the family’s apartment in search of the murder weapon could not substantiate the suspicion at the time.
