According to the unions, the offer that the company is putting on the table today is not enough for the workers.
EITB radio staff held a second day of strike on Tuesday to defend their rights and working conditions. As a result of the strike, the programming of Radio Euskadi, Euskadi Irratia, Radio Vitoria, Gaztea and Eitb Musika is adapted to the minimal services issued by the Basque government.
According to the ELA trade union, negotiations with the company have started, but “today the offer that the company puts on the table is not enough for the workers; personnel in favor of the strike”.
The EITB Irratia Inter-Centre Committee has called for meetings in the work centers themselves from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
The EITB Intercenter Committee called three days of strike (last September 14, this September 26 and next October 19) on the radio stations of the public group to demand the renewal of the agreement, which has not been updated for 13 years.
The ELA, LAB and ESK unions criticize that management has “ignored” the workforce to recruit people and demand that image rights be recognized in radio programs broadcast by EITB television stations.
