This year, the education sector will allocate 816 million euros to arrange private classrooms

Date:

One of the most important changes compared to last year is the coordination of the two-year-old classrooms for the first time.

The Basque Ministry of Education plans in total 816 million euros to equip 7,445 classrooms of private non-university education centers in Euskadi during the current academic year 2023-2024, the first in which the Basque government will organize classes for two-year students.

This Tuesday, the regional executive approved this expenditure forecast, which is higher than the forecast initially also made at the beginning of last year and which the ministry estimated at 679.3, variables depending on the needs and subsequent changes.

One of the most important changes compared to the past year is the coordination for the first time of two-year-old classrooms, the third year of the first cycle of early childhood education.

In addition, the economic forecast takes into account the increasing financing of additional support staff, as well as the updating of current modules due to salary increases.

318 education centers in the Basque Country have signed an agreement: 34 in Álava, 164 in Bizkaia and 120 in Gipuzkoa.

Education remembers that through the concerts the costs of teaching in private centers are financed. The amount is allocated to personnel costs and to the normal operation of the schools.
