Incredible dog attack in Lenzing (Upper Austria)! An Australian shepherd got loose during lunch and ran towards a school class returning from a day of walking. The animal attacked the completely shocked children, injuring two so badly that they had to be hospitalized.
It was around 11:40 am on Tuesday when a school class from the Neue Mittelschule Lenzing was on a walking day in the vicinity of the Agerbrücke roundabout in the Unterachmann district. At the same time, a 61-year-old woman was walking her cousin’s dog in the neighborhood. The dog was not on a leash and had recently stripped its muzzle while rolling on the ground.
Dog broke away
When she discovered the school class, the 61-year-old stood about five to seven meters in the meadow next to the sidewalk and held the dog by the collar with both hands to let the school class through. However, the dog broke free and charged at the children in the school class without a muzzle, ultimately injuring two children with several bites. The students received primary care from the Red Cross or were taken to the Salzkammergut state hospital for outpatient treatment.
