In a stolen car, but without a driver’s license, but under the influence of drugs: the Vorarlberg police were finally able to arrest a 17-year-old Austrian in the city of Dornbirn on Tuesday evening after a breakneck chase.
On Tuesday around 9:45 p.m., a Hohenems security guard tried to stop a car on the L190 in Hohenems. However, the driver was unimpressed and fled towards Dornbirn, leading to daring overtaking maneuvers and endangering uninvolved road users, according to police reports. Only in Dornbirn did the police patrol finally manage to stop the crazy escape and stop the car.
Car was reported stolen in Switzerland
The subsequent driver and vehicle check revealed that the car was driven by a 17-year-old Austrian who did not have a driver’s license. With him in the vehicle, which had been stolen the night before in the Swiss municipality of Widnau in the Rhine Valley, were two women aged 17 and 18.
Refused drug test
The young driver subsequently refused a drug test, even though there were clear signs of impairment. The 17-year-old must expect to be reported to the Feldkirch public prosecutor’s office for various criminal offenses. In addition, there have been reports to the Dornbirn district administration about various administrative violations.
