Shocking scenes took place in the center of Linz on August 9. The landlady of a sushi restaurant tried to stop two carousers who wanted to drive away in a car. The 16-year-old driver hit the woman and fled. The landlady was seriously injured in hospital for six weeks, but was now able to leave. She is in rehabilitation.

The alleged perpetrator (16) and her boyfriend (17), who fled to Croatia and were arrested there, are now in custody in Graz. The teen states that she has not seen the woman. However, the 16-year-old is still under investigation for attempted murder.

The driver and her companion were captured on the restaurant’s surveillance camera before the crime. A witness had the crucial tip: the fugitive’s car had a Graz license plate. The owner of the white SUV was quickly identified: it was the boy’s mother. The two young people, who did not have a driver’s license, were then quickly arrested in Croatia and extradited to Austria.
