Two trucks collided on the A10 in the municipality of Hüttau. The accident site, just a few kilometers from the traffic jam hotspot for the tunnel renovation, has been closed in the direction of Salzburg since shortly after 5:30 p.m.
According to the first information, a collision took place between two trucks at around 5:30 PM at the valley crossing shortly after the driving tunnel towards Salzburg. A truck had crashed into the vehicle in front of it. The steering wheel of the rear truck was trapped. Rescue and emergency physicians as well as the Martin 1 emergency helicopter were called in.
The rescue helicopter took the seriously injured man to Schwarzach Hospital. The Red Cross also took the slightly injured driver of the second truck to Schwarzach by ambulance.
The result is a traffic jam that stretches for miles
Just a few minutes after the emergency services were alerted, the volunteer fire brigades of Eben and Altenmarkt also went to the accident site in the Hüttau area. As a result, there was a lengthy recovery of the two multi-ton vehicles in the direction of Salzburg.
The emergency services expect the road towards Salzburg to be closed until approximately midnight. The result was a traffic jam stretching for miles far to the south.
