Since Tuesday evening, 250 firefighters, four drone pilots and 19 sniffer dogs have been searching for a 79-year-old who disappeared from the nursing home in Hörsching (Upper Austria). The search was initially unsuccessful and had to be briefly interrupted during the night. It ended relatively happily on Wednesday.
The 79-year-old disappeared from the nursing home in Hörsching on Tuesday evening. After negative searches in the vicinity of the retirement home and the residential addresses of the relatives, a large-scale search was started, in which seven fire brigades, 19 police patrols, drones, sniffer dogs and a helicopter were deployed.
Tip brought success
After a short overnight break, the search continued on Wednesday. Around 2 p.m., a tip came in that the 79-year-old had been seen in the area of the municipality of Oftering in the morning hours, after which the search was expanded there.
Fairly happy ending
Shortly after 4pm, the elderly man was found injured on a field path by a police patrol in Marchtrenk, about three kilometers from the last sighting. She was taken to the Wels-Grieskirchen clinic.
