Spectacular scenes occurred in Vienna-Favoriten on Thursday morning. A man not only threw his own belongings out of his apartment window, but also insulted passers-by and threw a laptop at a police officer.
It is currently unknown why the 37-year-old went crazy and threw several objects out the window. When the rioter then insulted passers-by, they alerted the police.
Laptop thrown at police officer during escape
The man could be found on the street, made confusing statements to the police and was extremely aggressive. Suddenly he tried to escape. As he fled, he threw a laptop at an officer, who was able to dodge and avoid injury.
Jumped from the second floor earlier
After a short chase, the suspect was apprehended and temporarily detained. According to his own statements, he jumped from the window of his second-floor apartment and was therefore taken to a hospital by the emergency services of the Vienna Professional Rescue Service.
The 37-year-old is said to have been released on the orders of the Vienna public prosecutor’s office. An interrogation could not yet take place.
