Happened again – Viennese luxury store again victim of battering ram gang

Date:

It has happened again: Once again, around four o’clock on Sunday morning, three unknown perpetrators used a car as a battering ram and drove a vehicle into the front door of a men’s clothing store in the center of Vienna. Amicis is the name of the luxury store that was looted by a gang almost exactly six months ago in April…

It was around four in the morning when a deafening noise at the Wildpretmarkt in the center of Vienna shook the neighborhood. According to police, a passerby saw three unknown people rush into the luxury men’s outfit in an apparently stolen car.

The perpetrators immediately fled – there is no trace of them and the police are looking for them. According to initial information, the gang may have stolen expensive clothing. The witness had noted the car’s license plate number.

Were they repeat offenders?
The strange thing: the case is reminiscent of the battering ram gang that raced against the luxury store in April. According to investigators, three people were seen on surveillance footage at the time – but it is uncertain whether they were repeat offenders. At the time, police said the damage was in the six figures. As in the first battering-ram burglary, the car was stolen a few days before the crime and parked in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus, according to police spokesman Markus Dittrich.
