Campus cordoned off – multiple victims in shooting at American university

Shots were fired at a university in Baltimore, Maryland, on Tuesday evening. Police confirmed “several victims” but provided no further details. Everyone on campus was asked to hide or seek safety. The warning has now been withdrawn.

Baltimore police said late Tuesday night that they responded to shots fired on the grounds of Morgan State University. There are several victims, the police continue. “Please stay where you are and avoid the area.”

Mostly African American students
The university also urged students and their families not to stay in the affected area. Everyone who is already there must “hide in place.” The university is historically an African-American institution with approximately 9,000 students.

The warning has now been withdrawn and the situation is “no longer active”, the report said. Further details are not yet known, police will release a statement as soon as more can be said.
