Terror in Floridsdorf’s municipal housing: urine odor, vandalism and theft. The residents are desperate and two young people from the neighborhood are suspected.
For years, harmony reigned in Staircase 22 of the Autohelderstrasse 3-7 estate. Mainly older people live there. That changed when a family from the Middle East came to live there two years ago. There was an argument from the start, says a resident who wishes to remain anonymous for fear of attacks. Last year her bicycle was stolen from her house twice.
Stairs as a public toilet
And the basement compartments were also broken into and robbed several times. The entrance door was recently demolished, so the stairs are now open. The police were called each time, but the search for the perpetrators has so far yielded nothing. Just like the search for the ‘disgust phantom’. The stairs have been in use as a public toilet for some time. “The smell of urine is unbearable, especially in summer,” the tenant complains.
Wiener Wohnen says: “We know about a bicycle theft; the door lock was last replaced in July. The neighborhood service Wohnpartner is already involved and is trying to mediate between the parties.”
