It is unclear why the woman kidnapped the child. Police said they were behaving “psychologically abnormal” when the woman was taken to a hospital for examination.

She searched the area with other playground visitors and alerted police when the child remained missing. They then initiated extensive search measures, including loudspeaker announcements. The search involved ten patrols, including emergency services personnel and an assistance dog handler with a dog.
Neighbor heard children crying loudly
They didn’t find the little girl, but a witness alerted police because she heard children crying loudly from the apartment of a neighbor she knew didn’t have children. “The situation seemed very suspicious to the informant,” the police report said. Emergency services found the missing two-year-old and a 43-year-old woman in the hallway and returned the child to his mother.
