Two people were injured in a serious accident late on Friday afternoon in Dölsach in East Tyrol. An elderly couple dropped their car into a stream bed.
The 85-year-old motorist and his wife (80) were driving along a municipal road in Dölsach on Friday around 5:30 p.m. when the man lost control of his vehicle for reasons that are still unclear. The car left the road and fell into a stream bed about four meters below.
Spouses were injured and taken to hospital
The 80-year-old passenger was seriously injured. The emergency doctor’s helicopter had to fly her to the hospital in Klagenfurt. Her husband was also injured and the rescue took him to the hospital in Lienz. There was significant damage to the accident car.
42 firefighters from two communities, a first responder, the emergency physician and a police patrol were present.
